The Artist

  • Artist Bio

Karma is a Portland-based vocalist, performer, and creator known for her genre-defying fusion of vintage soul, cinematic storytelling, and bold theatricality. the lead singer of the acclaimed ensemble formerly known as ‘Scarlett Siren & The Howlin’ Tramps, she has carved out a signature sound that critics have described as “retro, nostalgic” and “deliciously genre-defying.”

Her music transcends boundaries — blending blues, jazz, swing, rock, and psychedelic textures into what MTS Management Group calls “a wide palette of sonic textures … uniquely their own dubbed Psychedelic Swing.” Each song is a time-traveling experience, inviting listeners into smoky cabarets, haunted speakeasies, and dreamlike worlds where history and rebellion collide. Her latest work draws on 1970s’ raw psychedelic energy — channeling the spirit of Janis Joplin, Pink Floyd, and The Doors while infusing cinematic grit inspired by the wild west.

As a burlesque performer and creator of the immersive Pink Elephant Cabaret experience, Karma infuses her music with the same theatrical flair and storytelling depth that define her stage performances. Her shows are not just concerts — they are cinematic rituals of sound and spectacle, merging the glamour of the past with the power and defiance of the present. Pink Elephant has drawn crowds to The Star and Mission theater in portland, OR with packed and sold out ticket sales bring her theatrical storytelling and strong visual identity to my music work.

Through her art, Karma invites audiences to step beyond genre and time, blending mystique, empowerment, and emotion into a world that feels both familiar and otherworldly — a place where ghosts still sing, and history dances again.

  • Community Impact:
Themes and Social Impact — Age of the Outlaw

Age of the Outlaw is a 15-part multimedia music and visual series that retells pivotal historical events from the perspective of ghosts, bringing lost or hidden stories to light. Each episode explores a different era, using music, cinematic storytelling, and immersive visuals to illuminate injustice, resilience, and human experience.

The series addresses a wide spectrum of social and cultural issues, including:

    • Queer love and LGBTQ+ experiences across history

    • Transgender issues and the ongoing fight for recognition and equality

    • Civil rights and systemic racism, tracing their impacts from past to present

    • Feminism and gender equity, examining how the culture of the witch trials continues to shape women’s confidence and societal expectations

    • The trauma of exploitative youth programs, including TTI and WWASP-style institutions, such as Provo Canyon School, which have systematically abused children — brought to light in recent years by survivors including Paris Hilton

    • The glamour and dark shadows of Hollywood, including the influence of cults and elite power structures

    • Historical trauma, such as the impact of WWI, fascism under Hitler, and societal oppression

By channeling these narratives through the voices of ghosts, Karma invites audiences to confront uncomfortable truths about American history, reflect on patterns of systemic injustice, and envision a future where these cycles are broken.

Committed to inclusivity and representation, Karma plans to hire LGBTQ+ and BIPOC actors, musicians, and collaborators for the series, ensuring they are paid fairly and have meaningful creative input. This approach not only enriches the project artistically but also creates opportunities for marginalized communities in the Portland arts scene.

Age of the Outlaw is both a haunting musical experience and a socially conscious exploration — blending genre-defying music, cinematic storytelling, and historical reflection to educate, inspire, and empower audiences.
